Denise, I’d just stick to Azelaic Acid until your rosacea is under control. Then, you can try retinal. It gives better results than granactive retinoid. You may also exfoliate with salicylic acid, but I wouldn’t do it more than once or twice a week.

I also have a prescription 15% azelaic acid, and use the Cerave cleanser you recommend, and I use the Cerave moisturizer as well. Wanting to add back in a retinol or something of the sort for anti-aging. I used to use Skinceuticals brand of retinol, starting at .5% and working up to 1% and had good results without too much irritation. However, my rosacea was under control for about 15 years along that way and suddenly I have been having flareups over the last year, so had discontinued the retinols and salicylic acid product I’d had good results with. Also, is my azelaic acid enough for exfoliation or do I need to consider adding one of the BHAs for that? I do have some issues with clogged pores, too.
