BioMiracle Start Dust Bubble Masks review

You know how sheet masks make you look like a serial killer? Not anymore.

BioMiracle Start Dust Bubble Masks turn your face into a cloud. The fun-coloured sheets fizzle and foam until you’re all covered in tiny blue or green bubbles. How cool is that?

I know, I know. It’s just a gimmick. It doesn’t make the masks work any better BUT who said skincare can’t be fun? You can even choose what creature you want to turn into:

  • Unicorn: A multicolour mask with charcoal and propolis to hydrate and clear up skin
  • Mermaid: A blue mask with antioxidants (Vitamin C, bamboo and seaweed) to prevent premature ageing
  • Bumble bee: A yellow and black mask with black charcoal and propolis to clear up skin
  • Pixie: A green mask with green tea and apple to moisturise skin and prevent wrinkles
  • Flamingo: A pink mask with rose extract and berries to hydrate skin

I’ve played around with Mermaid and Pixie. Here’s what happened:

How Do Bubble Masks Work?

Sort of like soda water. Take Coke, for example. It has carbon dioxide, a gas that dissolves in water. When you open the can, the pressure drops, the gas gets out and your coke starts to fizzle and bubble.

BioMiracle Star Dust Bubble Masks uses Methyl Perfluoroisobutyl Ether, an oxygenated perfluorocarbon. When you put the mask in your face, the oxygen turns back into gas, forming little bubbles all over your face.

This reaction doesn’t do anything special for your skin. But it makes your pampering session more fun. Are you up for that?

BioMiracle Star Dust Mermaid Bubble Mask

BioMiracle Star Dust Mermaid Bubble Mask is a blue sheet mask the colour of the clear sparkling ocean. Its essence is infused with:

I leave the mask on my face for 20 minutes. Around the 10 minutes mark, I start to hear little popping sounds. As I look in the mirror, I see tiny blue bubbles forming over the blue sheet.

When I take it off, my skin has a lot of the essence still on. It looks foamy, sort of like soap, and a little blueish. I rinse the whole thing off with water and pat my face dry.

My skin is now so soft to the touch. It looks a little brighter. When I wake up the next morning, I look fresh and awake.

It’s not something I’d use every day. But it makes my skincare routine fun once in a while. Plus, it’d be a great present for any teen in your life.

BioMiracle Star Dust Pixie Bubble Mask

BioMiracle Star Dust Pixie Bubble Mask is a green sheet mask infused with a similar essence as the Mermaid Mask. It uses the same fizzling gas, same surfactants and same dollop of glycerin.

The difference is in the antioxidants. The Pixie mask uses apple and green tea, two powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals. Green tea goes a step further. It also soothes inflammation and helps protect skin from sun damage.

Oh, and the green colour. This time, the foam the mask creates is a bright green hue. Kinda makes you look like Mrs Hulk taking a bath…

After removing the mask, I rinse off the foaming essence with water. I can instantly tell my skin is a little softer and brighter. Not as softer as after the Mermaid mask, but it does make your skin look fresher.

I’d say this is more suited to people with oily skin concerned with antiaging. If your skin’s on the dry side, the Mermaid Mask is a better fit for you.
